Assistant Financial Controller

We are looking for an Assistant Financial Controller


What will you be doing?

As Assistant Financial Controller you are the right hand of the Financial Director. The administration is done locally in the many countries where Supermaritime is active. In the Netherlands the local entities are supported, audited and all figures are consolidated. Your tasks and responsibilities include:

- You are the contact person for the local finance people in the different countries;

- You coordinate with the finance team in the Netherlands;

- You are responsible for a number of administrations;

- You are co-responsible for the monthly closing;

- You are responsible for the VAT returns;

- You have an active role in identifying and implementing improvements;

- You support the finance team when necessary.


What do you bring?

- A completed HBO (higher professional education) degree in finance;

- Approximately 2-5 years of relevant work experience;

- You are good at bookkeeping;

- You are communicatively strong and driven to improve things;

- Good command of the English language (French/Portuguese is appreciated);

- You are available for 32-40 hours per week;

- You are allowed to travel to local entities.


Where will you be working?

Supermaritime is an independent maritime agency and logistics service provider. They offer various services, including international ship and port agency services (e.g. in West Africa). In total there are approximately 300 permanent employees worldwide. The organization has about 20 colleagues in Rotterdam, including 5 finance colleagues. Locally, the administration is carried out and consolidation takes place from Rotterdam. We are not a bureaucratic corporate but a dynamic company where decisions are taken quickly and with very short lines (1 owner).
